Tropicalia – Salvador & Islands
This trip departs year round - 8 Days/7 Nights from $2,500 per person
Day 1-3: Welcome to the Northeast of Brazil’s most famous city, Salvador. It is the center of Afro-Brazilian culture and has unique history, traditions, and customs. The country's original capital city boasts the largest African heritage population outside of Africa.
Your 4-star hotel is rich in colonial architecture and located in the Pelourinho – the oldest and most culturally vibrant neighborhood of the city. It is the perfect location to begin exploring the incredible diversity of Salvador.
You will explore the unique cobble-stoned streets at leisure on a private walking city tour. Afro-Brazilian beats pepper the air as you delight in a traditional Capoeira (Brazilian martial arts) performance. You will experience an unforgettable musical and cultural journey at a traditional folkloric show, highlighting the different dances and music of Bahia. Take a leisurely stroll to enjoy the sunshine on one of Salvador's many bustling beaches where great food and cold fruit drinks abound.
Day 4-7: After savoring the sites and sounds of Salvador, you cab board a scenic 45-minute flight or take a catamaran to the island oasis of Morro de Sao Paulo. Your romantic oceanside resort awaits!
You are now on island time and surrounded by sun, sand, and sea! Everything you could possibly want is within walking distance. From the privacy of your veranda, you can swing in your hammock and listen to the waves crashing beyond the coconut trees. There is so much to see and do here. You can take a boat ride, go horseback riding, hike through endless beaches or just relax and unwind! You will take a boat cruise around the islands to explore their magnifiscence. You will see deserted beaches, an oyster farm and an ancient monastery.
“Morro” has numerous bars & restaurants with live music and fantastic atmosphere. Be sure to try the island’s famous Capetas (fresh fruits mixed with Cachaca) that you can get at night from any hut on the ‘Second Beach’. Keep in mind to drink moderately. If a romantic dinner is in your plans, then try one of the restaurants along the more secluded ‘Fourth Beach’.
Days 8: Say farewell to the islands as you return to the mainland where you will catch your flight to your next destination.
Your Trip Includes: All accommodations in 4 star hotels and/or charming boutique hotels, breakfast daily, services of a GRT Cultural Ambassador and expert local guides, all tours mentioned in itinerary, transportation within your trip destinations including airport transfers on the first and final days, and a private 4x4 vehicle island tour, Morro de Paulo island island cruise, tours mentioned above and daily environmental taxes.
